FIVB Volleyball U-21 World Championship: Iran Beats Argentina

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran edged past Argentina 3-2 (25-23, 15-25, 18-25, 25-22, 15-10) at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship in Brno, Czech Republic on Saturday.

This was the sixth consecutive five-setter for the Iranian team at the tournament.

Amirhossein Esfandiar was the winning side’s most prolific player with 14 points, while Argentina’s Juan Horacio Bucciarelli was the best scorer of the match with 24 points.

Iran will play with the winner of Canada and China for the fifth place on Sunday.

The 2017 FIVB Volleyball Men's U-21 World Championship is the nineteenth edition of the international volleyball tournament and the world championship for men's national teams under the age of 21, organized by the sport's world governing body, FIVB.
