Iran Loses to Spain at FIBA U-19 World Cup
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Spain at the 2017 FIBA U-19 World Cup in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday.
The Iranian team lost to its European rival 70-50 and failed to advance to the competition’s quarterfinals.
Aleix Font scored 15 points for Spain and Amirhossein Azari from Iran had 15 points and nine rebounds.
Iran will play the loser of Argentina vs. host Egypt on Friday.
The nine-day event has brought a total of 16 teams together.
The 2017 FIBA U-19 Basketball World Cup started in Cairo on July 1 and will conclude on July 9.
