Keyhani Bags Iran’s Fourth Gold at Asian Athletics Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Hossein Keyhani seized a gold medal at the men’s 3000 meters steeplechase final of the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships on Saturday.
Keyhani claimed the gold medal with a time of 8:43.82.
The silver medal went to Qatari Yaser Salem (8:46.16) and Ali Ahmad Al-Amri from Saudi Arabia claimed the bronze medal (8:52.64).
Iran’s discus thrower Ehsan Haddadi, shot putter Ali Samari and sprinter Hassan Taftian have previously won three gold medals in the competition.
Moslem Niadoost has also won the bronze medal in 1500 meters.
The 2017 Asian Athletics Championships are the 22nd edition of the Asian Athletics Championships. It is underway from 6 July to 9 July 2017 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, India.
