Iranian, Omani Top Diplomats Discuss Regional Issues

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Omani counterpart, Youssef bin Alawi, exchanged views on a range of issues, including the latest developments in the Middle East.

In a meeting held in Tehran on Wednesday, Zarif and Alawi also held talks on ways to deepen Tehran-Muscat relations in all spheres.

The two sides described the level of bilateral ties as proper and stressed the need to expand economic relations in parallel with the political ties.

The Omani minister arrived in Tehran on Tuesday night following an official visit to the Qatari capital of Doha.

The visits come as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Bahrain have cut diplomatic ties and all land, sea, and air contacts with Qatar, accusing the Persian Gulf country of supporting terrorism and interfering in their internal affairs.
