Hezbollah Lauds Aqsa Mosque Operation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah Resistance Movement hailed a Friday operation against Israeli police officers in the Old City of al-Quds (Jerusalem) as a testimony of deep-rooted interest in resistance among Palestinians.

In a statement on Monday, Hezbollah said the recent “courageous” operation by young Palestinians signifies the highly respected position of al-Aqsa Mosque for the people of Palestine.

The operation that resulted in the martyrdom of young men from Jabarin family was a great job and offered a beacon of hope to all people opposing occupation, the statement added, according to Al-Manar TV.

On Friday, a shooting incident in al-Quds left at least three Palestinians and two Israeli police officers dead.

The Palestinian victims were identified as Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Jabarin, 29, Muhammad Hamid Abd al-Latif Jabarin, 19, and Muhammad Ahmad Mufdal Jabarin, 19.

Sami Abu Zuhri, the Hamas spokesman in Gaza City, described Friday’s shooting attack as “a natural response to Israel’s terrorism and its desecration of the Aqsa Mosque.”

The occupied territories have already been the scene of increased tensions ever since Israeli forces imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds in August 2015.

Over 300 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli force since October that year, when the clashes intensified.
