Syrian Jets Target Terrorists’ Positions in Arsal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s air force intensified airstrikes on Takfiri militants entrenched on the outskirts of the northeastern Lebanese town of Arsal Wednesday, as the launch of a Hezbollah offensive against them edged ever closer, a report said.

The report said that the Syrian air force launched 18 strikes on the militant positions in the outskirts of Arsal Wednesday, according to The Daily Star.

“Three planes are taking shifts bombing the rebels,” the source added. “They are also being bombarded by rocket launchers.”

A large group of the terrorists have been so far killed in the attacks, it added.

Ahmad Hujeiri, a member of Arsal’s municipal council said that committees have been formed in the various informal refugee settlements in order to effectively coordinate security in the area.

A source said that despite the border tensions and the arrest of two terror suspects Tuesday the situation in Arsal “remains stable and calm.”
