Iran U-23 Defeats Australia at Asian Volleyball Championship

TEHRAN – Iran U-23 team beat Australia 3-1 (25–11, 25–19, 22–25, 25–17) at the 2017 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship on Saturday.

The Iranian team will most likely face Indonesia on Sunday in the competition’s quarterfinals.

Former successive two-time champion Iran, fielded a U-23 squad in its final preparation for the next month’s FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-23 World Championship in Cairo, Egypt.

The 2017 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship is the 19th edition of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship, the biennial international men's volleyball championship of Asia organized by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC).

The event is being held in Surabaya, Indonesia from 24 July to 1 August 2017. It is the second time that Indonesia hosts the tournament after the 2007 Asian Championship.
