Larijani Highlights Importance of Closer Ties between Iran, Tanzania

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani stressed the need for enhanced bilateral ties between Iran and Tanzania in diverse fields.

Speaking in a Friday meeting with his Tanzanian counterpart, Job Ndugai, Larijani said Iran-Tanzania Parliamentary Friendship Group will travel to the East African country next month.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, the speaker of Tanzania's National Assembly is in Iran to attend Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's inauguration ceremony on Saturday.

The Iranian official added that the upcoming trip will help further promote parliamentary ties between the two nations.

Attaching importance to enhanced political and parliamentary relations between the two countries, Larijani said the two nations’ mutual trade ties should also develop by exploring potential business opportunities in Iran and Tanzania.

Iran is ready to increase its technical and engineering services to the African country as well, he added.

Ndugai, for his part, welcomed the enhancement of ties between Iran and Tanzania in various fields, parliamentary and commercial in particular, noting that the parliaments of the two nations could share their experience and help improve their relations.

He also invited Larijani to pay an official visit to his country in the future.
