Saudi Jets Pound Civilian Areas in Yemen’s Sa’ada, Sana’a
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi warplanes carried out more than 20 airstrikes against civilian targets in Yemen's Sa'ada, killing and injuring a large number of people in the northwestern province.
The Saudi jets pounded the areas of Kataf and Bagem in Sa'ada on Friday night, a military official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Saba news agency on Saturday.
The jets struck Kataf district 11 times, causing huge damage, the source added.
They also waged nine raids on Bagem district, killing and injuring scores of people.
In a separate development, the districts of Sanhn and Bani Bahloul in Sana’a province were pummeled by Saudi military aircraft on Friday.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition led by the Saudi regime for nearly 27 months but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been launching deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Nearly 10,000 Yemenis, including 4,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
