Omani Delegation Visits Iranian Port City for Trade Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Omani trade delegation paid a visit to the southeastern Iranian southern port city of Jask, Hormozgan province, to discuss ways to improve economic ties between the two nations, a report said.

Headed by Khamis bin Abdullah al Farsi, the director general of commerce at Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the mission held a number of meetings with Iranian officials to explore investment and trade opportunities in the port city on the shore of the Oman Sea.

The two sides also discussed enhanced cooperation between the companies of the two countries’ private sectors, the Times of Oman reported without mentioning the exact date of the visit.

The delegation also included a number of officials from the country’s ministries of commerce and agriculture as well as Omani businessmen.

Iran and Oman enjoy age-old and close ties and their relations have become even closer after the two sides' agreements to boost mutual cooperation specially on economic fields.
