At Least 30 Killed as Saudi-Led Air Strike Hits Hotel in Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 30 people were killed in an airstrike by the Saudi-led coalition that hit a hotel north of the Yemeni capital of Sana’a on Wednesday, witnesses and local media said.
A local television channel run by the country's Houthi movement, who control Sana’a, blamed the Saudi-led military coalition for the strike.
Dozens of people were also wounded in the attack, which struck north of Sana’a in the Arhab area, according to the Al Jazeera.
The numbers of dead and wounded could not be independently confirmed, and Reuters reported that a spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition was not immediately available.
Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
