Palestine Still Paramount for Syria: Adviser
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A senior adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said people of her country still regard the issue of Palestine as the crux of the matter in the Muslim world despite a war that has engulfed their nation for more than six years.
Despite the war against the Syrian nation, the issue of Palestine is still a focal point of interest for the people of Syria, SANA quoted Bouthaina Shaaban as saying.
She also described the attempts to downplay the issue of Palestine as the first step of a plot to undermine the entire Arab society.
Many Muslims leaders and political figures see Palestine as the Islamic world’s pivotal issue.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has described the issue of Palestine as the prime concern of the Muslim world, saying the world’s arrogant powers, spearheaded by the US, provoke regional conflicts to make Israeli occupation of Palestine fade into oblivion.
