Sepahan, Persepolis Share the Spoils in Iran Professional League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis was held to a 2-2 draw by Sepahan of Isfahan in an exciting match in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Thursday.
Mehdi Taremi put the visiting team into the lead in the 39th minute from the penalty spot.
Marwan Hussain equalized the match with a header just seconds after the hour mark.
Soon after, Persepolis dominated the match and Ali Alipour scored Persepolis’ second goal in the 74th minute.
With five minutes remaining, Jalaleddin Alimohammadi found the back of the Persepolis’ net with a long-range shot.
Persepolis remains second in IPL table with 14 points and Sepahan is 12th with seven points from seven matches.
Furthermore, Siahjamegan suffered a 1-0 home defeat to rock bottom Gostaresh Foolad and Esteghlal Khuzestan and Sepidrood Rasht played out a goalless draw.
