Palestinian Islamic Jihad Lauds Attack on Israeli Guards in West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement praised an attack on an illegal Israeli settlement near al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Tuesday that killed three Israeli guards, saying it was “a slap in the face” of those who make concessions with the Tel Aviv regime.

“The Quds operation is a manifestation of the Palestinian people’s living conscience and will rearrange the national priorities (of Palestine) that have been mixed up,” Davoud Shihab said on Tuesday, the Arabic-language the Palestine al-Yawm news agency reported.

He further emphasized that the operation was “a slap in the face of those who are seeking to normalize relations with the Zionist regime of Israel”.

Shihab also said the attack was a practical response to continued plots hatched by right-wing political parties of Israel to attack and dominate al-Aqsa Mosque.

Three Israeli police guards were killed, and a fourth wounded, in the attack on an illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, according to media reports.

The Israeli army radio interviewed a resident of Har Adar, the illegal settlement near al-Quds, who said a gunman had arrived with a group of Palestinian laborers and opened fire on paramilitary Israeli police guards.

The gunman was shot dead after the attack, according to the reports.

Har Adar is an upscale settlement west of Jerusalem.
