IRGC Establishes Special Department for Safety

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has established a new department to oversee and enforce the safety regime in different units and arms of the force, a senior commander announced, saying the initiative has contributed to a dramatic reduction in incidents.

Addressing a conference on safety of armed forces here in Tehran on Sunday, IRGC Lieutenant Commander Brigadier General Hossein Salami said since the formation of the safety department which has the crucial responsibility of overseeing, ensuring and enforcing safety standards,"we have witnessed a dramatic drop in incidents, proof that safety requires supervision, thought and systematic programming.”

He also attached significance to safety measures in military organizations, and noted, “Safety must be an issue of constant concern for commanders within the armed forces.”

The senior commander further added that a comprehensive plan to handle the issue of safety through a scientific approach will certainly result in a dramatic fall in the number of incidents, accidents and casualties.
