Iranian Girl Wins Bronze at World Archery Youth Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Geesa Baybordy claimed a bronze medal at the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships on Friday.

The 16-year-old defeated top-ranked Andrea Becerra from Mexico in the compound cadet women’s bronze final 142-141.

She defeated Mexican Sophia Sanfelice 140-139 but lost to Alexandra Paquette from Canada 137-135 in the semifinals.

The gold medal went to Briton Lucy Mason who beat Paquette in the final match.

Over 500 archers from 65 nations are competing at the 2017 World Archery Youth Championships.

The 2017 World Archery Youth Championships started on 2 October in Rosario, Argentina.
