Persepolis Boosted ahead of Tehran Derby by Hazfi Cup Win
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis received a boost ahead of Tehran derby by defeating Naft Tehran football team in Iran’s Hazfi Cup Round of 32.
The Reds beat Naft 2-0 in Tehran’s Aazdi Stadium.
Godwin Menshah was on target in the 73rd minute and Ali Alipour made it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 83rd minute.
Naft Tehran’s Issa Alekasir failed to convert his penalty in the dying moments of the match.
Persepolis will face Baderan Tehran in Round of 16.
Persepolis will face off its arch rival Esteghlal in Iran Professional League on Thursday.
