Iran’s Women’s Futsal Team Emerges Victorious over Italy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian women’s futsal team emerged victorious over Italy for the second time in two days.
Iran came from behind to beat Italy 2-1 in Tehran in the friendly match on Friday.
Arianna Pomposelu gave the visiting team a lead in the first half but Fereshteh Karimi and Fereshteh Khosravi were on target in the second half to seal a 2-1 victory for the Persians.
Iran had defeated Italy 3-1 on Thursday.
Iran is preparing for the 2018 AFC Women's Futsal Championship which will be held in May in Thailand.
Team Melli claimed the title of the first edition which was held in Malaysia in 2015.
The Iranian and Italian football federations signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as part of efforts to boost cooperation between the two countries in October, 2014.
