Iran’s Parliament Speaker Condoles Egypt over Deadly Terrorist Attack

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani strongly condemned a recent terrorist attack on a mosque in Egypt and offered condolences to the Egyptian people, parliament and government over the loss of innocent lives in the attack.

In a message to Egypt Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, Larijani slammed the “horrible crime” and expressed his deep sorrow over the sad event.

He also wished patience and peace for the bereaved families of the victims.

“Eradicating all shapes of terrorism needs the international community’s collective effort and all countries’ cooperation in order to fight the ideological origin and supporters of these criminal Takfiri groups,” he added.

At least 235 people were reportedly killed and 109 injured when terrorists attacked the Rawda mosque in El-Arish’s western province in North Sinai on Friday.

Reports indicate the terrorists used explosives and heavy weaponry in their attack on the mosque.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced three days of nationwide mourning following the deaths of people in the attack.
