IRGC Commander: Cores of Resistance Have Formed in Region, World

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari highlighted the growing presence of popular mobilization forces in the Middle East and said cores of resistance have formed in regional countries.

“Today, the global mobilization force of the Islamic front has been established,” Major General Jafari said, addressing a huge gathering of Iranian Basij (mobilization) forces in Tehran on Sunday.

“Cores of resistance have formed in many countries in the region and the world,” he said, adding that the countries will see its valuable results in the future.

Elsewhere, the commander said the achievements of the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance Movement have come thanks to benefiting from the experiences of Basij forces.

Major General Jafari also pointed to Iran’s advisory missions in Iraq and Syria, saying that recent victories of the resistance forces over foreign-backed terrorists is the result of the presence of Iranian advisers and commanders as well as the countries’ popular forces.

In recent years, Iraq and Syria have been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.

The terrorist groups, which claim to be Islamic but whose actions are anything but, have been committing heinous crimes not only against non-Muslims but mostly against Muslims in the region.

The self-proclaimed caliphate of Daesh collapsed in Syria and Iraq after the Arab countries’ forces and their allies managed to recapture Al-Bukamal, the terror group’s last stronghold in Syria, last week.
