Iran Gains Nuclear Battery Production Know-How: AEOI Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior official at Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said the country has managed to gain the technology to build nuclear batteries.

The Islamic Republic has mastered the technology to produce nuclear batteries, becoming the fifth country after the United States, Russia, France and Britain to have this know-how, Asghar Zare'an, special assistant to head of the AEOI, Ali Akbar Salehi, said on Sunday.

He added that the batteries will be used in various sectors, including health, industry, electronic machines, oil, and relocation of satellites.

On April 9, President Hassan Rouhani unveiled two major nuclear achievements namely, a rock core centrifuge, and high-temperature condensate pump on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of Iran’s National Nuclear Technology Day.

The former product is used to analyze samples gleaned from oil fields in order to estimate the general geological conditions governing the terrains.

The latter product is used at Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in southern Iran. It has been manufactured by domestic experts for the first time at a fourth of the international price.
