Iran Police Airborne Unit to Build Up Equipment: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Iranian Police’s Airborne Division highlighted the operational capabilities of his unit, unveiling plans for a boost to the equipment at his forces’ disposal to address critical conditions.

In comments on Sunday, General Ali Mosta’jeran said the Police’s Airborne Division has devised plans to enhance preparedness for critical situations, like an earthquake.

Part of efforts to increase readiness includes strengthening the Airborne Division’s equipment and putting the forces on alert for critical situations, he added.

Police forces played an active part in both ensuring security and helping in relief and rescue operations after a powerful 7.3-magnitude earthquake hit the border region in west of Iran in November, killing about 620 people.
