ALEPPO (Tasnim) – Syrian people from all walks of life poured into the streets in Aleppo to celebrate the first anniversary of the liberation of the Arab country’s northwestern city from foreign-backed terrorists.

According to Tasnim dispatches, a large number of people attended the ceremonies held in various parts of Aleppo to celebrate the anniversary of the city’s liberation.

Carrying the national flags of Syria and its allies, the participants in the event chanted slogans in support of the Syrian army.

Various Syrian military units held parades in the biggest square of Aleppo, with the soldiers emphasizing that they will continue their fight against terrorism until the full liberation of Syria from Takfiri terrorists.

The fall of rebel-held east Aleppo, northwest of Syria, was the biggest victory for the country's security forces in the war.

Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups currently controlling parts of it.

According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
