Syria Army Makes Fresh Gains in Aleppo, Hama

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syria’s army and its allies continued to make gains against al-Nusra Takfiri militants in Aleppo, managing to establish control over a number of areas there.

On Tuesday, Syrian forces stepped up their operations against al-Nusra terrorists in the southern countryside of Aleppo and liberated the villages of Maseh and Tel Maseh west of the town of Tel al-Daman, SANA news agency reported.

The recapture of the new districts came after the army seized control of al-Shaheed hill northwest of Jafr Mansour village around 60 km south of Aleppo city.

Later, the villages of Uwainat Saghira, Uwainat Kabira, and Marhamiye were also retaken from the militants.

In a separate development, army troops inflicted major losses on Daesh terrorists in the western-central province of Hama and took full control over Motilat Hill in the northeastern countryside of the province.

They also tightened the noose around Daesh in the villages of Totah and Abu Harik.

Syria is in the final stages of a battle against Takfiri terrorist groups that poured into the Arab country after the outbreak of the civil war in 2011.

On November 19, the Daesh (ISIL) terrorist group was flushed out of its last stronghold in Syria’s Al-Bukamal. The city’s liberation marked an end to the group’s self-proclaimed caliphate it had declared in 2014.
