Saudi Warplanes Target Yemen’s Marib for Two Times
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Saudi regime’s warplanes bombed Serwah district in Yemen’s central province of Marib for two times, Yemeni media reported.
The Saudi-led coalition fighter jets launched two attacks overnight on Serwah district in Marib province, a security official told Yemen’s Saba News Agency on Sunday.
The strikes targeted areas east of Serwah, damaging residential buildings.
Meanwhile, artillery force of the Saudi-paid mercenaries shelled homes and farms in the district.
In retaliation, sniper unit of the Yemen’s army and Popular Committees had shot dead seven Saudi-paid mercenaries in Marib province Sunday.
The mercenaries were killed in clashes occurred in Serwah district, the official added.
At least 13,600 people have been killed since the onset of Saudi Arabia’s military campaign against Yemen in 2015. Much of the Arabian Peninsula country's infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and factories, has been reduced to rubble due to the war.
The Saudi-led war has also triggered a deadly cholera epidemic across Yemen.
According to the World Health Organization’s latest count, the cholera outbreak has killed 2,167 people since the end of April and is suspected to have infected 841,906.
