Iran Beaten by Saudi Arabia at Asian Handball Championship

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran was defeated against Saudi Arabia 26-23 at the 2018 Asian Men's Handball Championship on Monday.

It was Iran’s first match in Group 1 which was held at the Suwon Gymnasium, Suwon.

Borut Macek’s team, who had defeated Uzbekistan 37-18 and Japan 37-32 in Group A, will play host South Korea and Oman on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

The 2018 Asian Men's Handball Championship is the 18th edition of the championship held under the aegis of Asian Handball Federation.

The championship is being held at Suwon, South Korea from January 18 to 28, 2018.

It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. For the first time, Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh have participated in the event.
