Palestinian Youth Killed By Israeli Troops’ Live Fire in West Bank

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian youth by live fire in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced.

Faraj al-Nassan, the head of al-Mugheir village, said following the Israeli troops’ attack on their village, the youth was hit from close range. He was taken to hospital in nearby Ramallah.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said a 16-year-old boy, who was identified as Laith Haytham Abu Na’im, was shot and critically injured by Israeli forces’ live fire in the village of al-Mughayer near Ramallah.

The teenager was admitted to Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah, with serious injuries in his head and died shortly after arriving at the hospital, the Palestine News Agency (WAFA) reported.

Tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories have risen since US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Dec. 6 recognizing Jerusalem (al-Quds) as Israel’s capital, and at least 19 Palestinians and one Israeli have been killed since that time.

The dramatic shift in Washington’s policy triggered demonstrations in the occupied Palestinian territories, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Morocco and other Muslim countries.
