Persepolis Beats Sepahan in Iran Professional League
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Persepolis football team defeated Sepahan to move 15 points clear at the top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) table.
On Friday, the IPL leader beat Sepahan 2-0 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Ali Alipour gave Persepolis the lead in the 10th minute with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area.
Shoja Khalilzadeh made it 2-0 in the 68th minute with a header.
Furthermore, Tractor Sazi defeated Padideh 3-0 in Mashhad, Sepidrood Rasht was held to a 1-1 draw by Esteghlal Khuzestan and Pars Jonoubi played out a goalless draw with Saipa.
Persepolis leads the table with 51 points, follows by Foolad, who has two matches in hand, with 36 points.
