Senior Army Official Says Iran’s Response to Surprise Foes
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A top Iranian commander and former Army Ground Force chief cautioned the enemies that any hostile military action would draw a surprising response from Iran’s armed forces.
In comments at a cultural ceremony in the city of Qom, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan highlighted the combat readiness of the armed forces, reminding the enemies that they could never surprise the country’s military forces.
Moreover, he added, the adversaries will definitely get a surprising response from Iran should they dare to take military action against the country.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on several occasions cautioned the adversaries that Iran’s response to any assault will not be confined to defense alone, but aggressors will face a crushing response.
In May 2015, Imam Khamenei made it clear that the Iranian nation will not let any possible act of aggression against the country go unanswered.
“The era of hit and run has ended” and the Iranian nation will chase aggressors, the Leader said at the time.
