Israel to Build 1,500 New Settler Units

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Israeli regime plans to build 1,500 new illegal settler units in al-Quds (Jerusalem).

Israeli sources say the new settlement expansion on Palestinian land is part of a project approved in August.

The Tel Aviv regime has been under fire from the international community including its own allies over its expansionist policies.

However, the regime has always defied calls to abandon the illegal settlement activities, Press TV reported.

Moreover, the Palestinian Authority considers the settlement activities as a hindrance to the so-called peace talks. The Israeli settlements are illegal under international law.

More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 settlements built since Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967.
