Saudi Coalition Warplanes Hit Civilian Areas in Yemen’s Taiz

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched three attacks on residential areas in the southwestern Yemeni province of Taiz, killing and injuring scores of civilians.

The Saudi-led coalition on Tuesday evening launched three attacks on Kap area of Maqbanah district in Taiz province, an official told Saba News Agency on Wednesday.

In retaliation, the artillery unit of Yemen army and Popular Committees targeted gathering of Saudi-paid mercenaries and their military vehicles in Taiz province.

Dozens of the Saudi mercenaries were killed and injured after Yemeni forces’ attack on the west coast of Taiz.

In another development, the Yemeni army and Popular Committees destroyed a Saudi military vehicle at Bujan site in the Jizan border province, killing all its crew.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni forces’ artillery unit targeted Saudi soldiers’ gatherings in Kaes site, killing and injuring a number of them.

Also, the Yemeni army and Popular Committees destroyed a military vehicle laden with the Saudi-paid mercenaries at Utemah area of Khub-Washaaf district in the northern province of Jawf.

Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development has recently announced that the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,040 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
