Activists Stage Protest against Bahraini, Saudi Regimes in Munich

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A number of Bahraini activists staged a protest rally outside the venue of the Munich Security Conference (MSC) in Germany to condemn crimes committed in Bahrain and Yemen by the Manama and Riyadh regimes.

The demonstration was held on Saturday in front of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich, where the MSC is taking place, the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

During the rally, the protesters chanted slogans against the Al Saud regime and called for an immediate end to the Saudi-led coalition’s ongoing aggression against Yemen.

They also condemned the Al Khalifa regime’s crimes against the Bahraini people and called on Western countries to cease their arms support for the Bahraini and Saudi regimes.

Bahrain, a close ally of the US in the Persian Gulf region, has been witnessing almost daily protests against the ruling Al Khalifa dynasty since early 2011, with Manama using heavy-handed measures in an attempt to crush the demonstrations.

Scores of Bahrainis have been killed and hundreds of others injured and arrested in the ongoing crackdown on the peaceful demonstrations.

Yemen’s defenseless people have also been under massive attacks by the Saudi-led coalition for nearly three years.

At least 14,000 people have been killed since the onset of Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen in 2015. Much of the Arabian Peninsula country's infrastructure, including hospitals, schools and factories, has been reduced to rubble due to the war.

The Saudi-led aggression has also triggered a deadly cholera epidemic across Yemen.

According to the World Health Organization’s latest count, the cholera outbreak has killed 2,167 people since the end of April 2017 and is suspected to have infected 841,906.
