Iran Edges Thailand 2-1 in Asia Cup Qualifier
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian national soccer team on Tuesday evening edged Thailand 2-1 in a 2015 AFC Asia Cup Group B qualifier.
The Iranian team defeated Thailand in a match held at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. Iran remained at the top of the table with seven points, followed by Kuwait and Lebanon with five and four points respectively. Thailand has any point in the group.
In another Group B match, Lebanon drew Kuwait 1-1.
The top two teams of each of the five groups, plus the only best third-placed side among all groups, advance to the final.
