Tehran-Ashgabat Business Forum Slated for Late March: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Turkmenistan are planned to hold a joint business forum in Ashgabat in late March, a report said.

According to the report carried by the official website of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, Iranian and Turkmen traders will participate in the joint forum.

It will be held concurrent with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s visit to Ashgabat in late March.

The Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran, the organizer of the forum, is calling on businesspeople eager to attend the event to contact TPO for more information.

In April 2017, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited Ashgabat at the head of a business delegation on the first leg of a tour of regional countries that also took him to Georgia and Kyrgyzstan.

Iran and Turkmenistan have the opportunity to boost banking ties, Zarif said in a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Rasit Meredow during the visit.
