IJF Grand Slam: Iran’s Mollaei Wins Bronze Medal

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Saeid Mollaei of Iran claimed a bronze medal on the final day of the International Judo Federation (IJF) Grand Slam in Ekaterinburg on Sunday.

Japan were assured of success in the men’s under-81kg competition after Sotaro Fujiwara and Takeshi Sasaki both reached the gold medal match.

Fujiwara secured his second Grand Slam triumph in two months, adding to his title in Paris by winning via an ippon against his team-mate.

Bronze medals were earned by Iran’s Saeid Mollaei and Georgia’s Zebeda Rekhviashvili.

The 2018 Ekaterinburg Grand Slam brought 262 judokas from 34 nations together.
