Yemeni Forces Fire 7 Homegrown Ballistic Missiles at Saudi Targets

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Yemeni forces fired seven ballistic missiles into Saudi Arabia in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition as Monday marks the third anniversary of the start of the Riyadh-led war on the Arabian Peninsula country.

The missile unit of the Yemeni army announced that in keeping with the promise of the leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, the unit fired seven ballistic missiles at Saudi targets on Sunday night, the Arabic-language al-Masirah television network reported.

The missiles included “Borkan H2, Badr, and Qaher M2” and their targets were the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Abha International Airport in Asir, and a local airport in Jizan region as well as some other areas in southern Saudi Arabia, it said.

The missiles killed an Egyptian resident and wounded two others in Riyadh, the Saudi-led coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki was quoted as saying by Saudi Arabia’s state news agency SPA.

The attacks against the Saudi positions came just ahead of Monday that marks the anniversary of the start of an ongoing devastating war on Yemen.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the Saudi-led coalition for three years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
