IRGC Warns Syria Strike Perpetrators against Consequences

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) condemned the Saturday’s US-led missile attacks on Syria as a brazen crime, warning that the flames of such aggression will engulf its perpetrators.

In a statement on Saturday, the IRGC said the trilateral military strike on Syrian government targets will strengthen the willpower of the anti-terror resistance elements and deepen the Syrian nation’s hatred of the Western-Arab criminals.

“The crime committed at dawn today (Saturday) by the United States, Britain and France… is a blatant and undeniable crime which signifies their humiliating defeat in supporting Takfiri terrorists and shows they are seeking an opportunity to save terrorists,” the statement said.

“The seven-year experience of all-out resistance by the Syrian nation, government, army and popular forces against the full-scale proxy war launched by the domineering powers, Zionism and Takfiri terrorists, and their (Syrians) glorious victory in the first phase of this relentless confrontation shows resistant Syrians backed by Damascus’ strategic allies will continue to move on this path until achieving full victory, and criminals and those launching aggression against this country as well as their regional allies will not benefit (from their actions),” it added, the IFP reported.

The statement also stressed that the “flames of such crime will engulf the perpetrators and supporters” of the attack on Syria.

It further deplored the muted response from certain Islamic countries to the attack, saying the Muslims states that have refused to condemn the strike or have even expressed satisfaction with that crime “will have no answer before the Islamic community and history, and will be hated by Syrian people more than before.”

The United States and European allies launched airstrikes on Saturday against Syrian research, storage and military targets under the pretext of a suspected chemical attack near Damascus last weekend that killed more than 40 people.

Britain and France joined the United States in the strikes in a coordinated operation that was intended to show Western resolve in the face of what the leaders of the three nations called persistent violations of international law.
