Hezbollah Denies Report of Israeli Airstrike in Syria
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah denied reports that the Zionist regime of Israel has launched an airstrike near Syria’s Aleppo to target an arms depot allegedly used by Hezbollah and Iran.
In a statement on Saturday night, Hezbollah denied as “baseless and untrue” the report that Israel has bombed a weapons depot in Syria that was at Iran and Hezbollah’s disposal, Al-Manar television network said.
It came after some media outlets claimed that an Israeli air raid left a large-scale explosion at an arms depot in Mount Azzan near Aleppo, which was run by Hezbollah and the Iranian forces.
Report of the explosion came hours after the US, Britain, and France launched airstrikes on a number of the Syrian government’s positions in response to what they claim to be a chemical attack in Douma.
Also last week, Russia blamed Israel for an attack on Syria’s T4 airbase that killed at least 12 people. The Russian Defense Ministry said Israeli F-15 planes had carried out the strikes from Lebanese air space.
