IPL Results Week 29: Esteghlal, Zob Ahan Emerge Victorious
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal and Zob Ahan football teams defeated their rivals in Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.
In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium, Esteghlal edged past Paykan 3-2 thanks to Omid Ebrahimi’s goal in the injury time.
Zob Ahan also earned a late 2-1 victory over Persepolis at the Fooladshahr Stadium in Isfahan.
Furthermore, Esteghlal Khuzestan beat Sepahan 3-2, Padideh defeated Siahjamegan 2-1, Sepidrood drew 0-0 with Foolad, Tractor Sazi was held to a 1-1 draw by Sanat Naft, Saipa played out a goalless draw with Gostaresh and Pars Jonoubi defeated Naft Tehran 3-0.
With one week remaining, Persepolis, who won IPL title last week, leads the table with 61 points.
Zob Ahan is second with 52 points and Esteghlal remains third with 51 points.
