US JCPOA Move to Expedite Zionist Regime’s Annihilation: Iranian General
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force said the US president’s decision to pull his country out of the Iran nuclear deal would accelerate the demise of the Zionist regime of Israel rather than serving its interest.
“Silly Trump’s action on the JCPOA would not only have no favorable outcome for the Zionists, but will (rather) accelerate the process of destruction of the usurper regime,” Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari told reporters in Tehran on Saturday.
Pointing to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s comments that the Zionist regime of Israel is not going to exist in 25 years’ time, the commander said the Army Ground Force has already begun the countdown to destruction of Israel.
Elsewhere in his comments, the general highlighted the Iranian Army’s self-sufficiency in manufacturing defense equipment, saying all military needs are being met domestically.
In a speech from the White House on May 8, US President Donald Trump accused Iran of sponsoring terrorism and seeking nukes before announcing the US withdrawal from 2015 agreement between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany).
The controversial decision has drawn international condemnation, but has been welcomed by Israel and Saudi Arabia.
