Iran Railroad Company Signs Contract with Swiss Firm

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s state-owned railroad company signed a contract with Swiss company ‘Matisa’ on the maintenance and supply of railroad machines.

According to the contract, Matisa, the Swiss manufacturer of track maintenance equipment that was established in 1945, will carry out the overhaul of two ballast machines in Iran.

Apart from making repairs on nine other ballast regulators in Iran, the Swiss company has undertaken to provide the country with 21 railroad machines.

Based on the agreement, the supply of those 21 machines will be put out to tender and Iranian manufacturers will have priority over foreign producers.

Iran’s Railway Company is also going to ask Matisa to set up a production site inside Iran.
