Israel’s Deliberate Machinations May Hinder Trump-Kim Deal: US Analyst

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An American political analyst praised President Donald Trump’s recent deal with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un but at the same time warned that deliberate machinations taking place by Israel and its lobbies in the US Congress may cause the accord to fail.

“If there is any falling out between the Trump administration and that of Kim Jong-un, it will be the result of deliberate machinations taking place by Israel and her agents of influence in the US Congress and the US Intelligence community, both of which are part of the ‘Deep State’ that is determined to prevent Trump from succeeding in bringing some kind of resolution--as inadequate as it may be--to the Palestinian/Israeli situation,” Mark Glenn, from Idaho, said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency.

Glenn is a writer and co-founder of the Crescent and Cross Solidarity Movement, an interfaith forum dedicated to uniting Muslims and Christians against Zionists. He has his own blog The Ugly Truth.

The following is the full text of the interview:

Tasnim: US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un concluded their recent historic summit in Singapore by signing a deal that included a pledge to “work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.” What do you think about the agreement and how do you predict its success given Washington’s non-commitment to international treaties?

Glenn: My personal take on it is that this deal, coming as close as it has to the proposed unveiling of Trump’s ‘Ultimate Peace deal’ in the Middle East and his withdrawal from the JCPOA are directly related. Trump has made it very clear that he intends to come to some sort of resolution in the Middle East and with the overwhelming opposition to it on the part of Israel and her various operatives throughout the world, Trump needed a big political win in order to garner the kind of popular support he is going to need in order to move this ‘peace deal’ forward. By ‘solving’ the Korean crisis and in effect bringing together 2 sides that have been at war with each other for almost as long as have the Arabs and the Jews, he is in effect saying that if he can achieve the one, he can achieve the other. Furthermore, as it relates to Iran and Israel’s incessant screeching over the Iranian nuclear program, Trump is trying to establish his bona fides with Jewry as pertains the nuclear issue prior to pushing forward his ‘ultimate peace deal’.

Tasnim: Trump recently attacked Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in a tweet over the New York Democrat's criticisms of the North Korea summit. Schumer said the summit was “what the Texans call all cattle and no hat”. What do you think about the domestic disputes over the deal?

Glenn: It must be remembered that Schumer--like many Jews in America--has only one loyalty, and it is to Israel. As a powerful member of the US Senate, he is in effect a sock puppet for Israeli interests and is there to do their bidding. Schumer’s job is to cause Trump as much grief and aggravation as possible in the political arena like someone throwing rotten tomatoes at a performer on stage. If Trump were truly in Israel’s pocket to the severity and extent that so many claim, Schumer and the rest of Netanyahu’s hired guns in the Congress would be given the order to cease and desist all antagonistic operations against the President and the red carpet would be rolled out for him to go forward with whatever plans he had that benefited Israel.

Tasnim: As you know, Trump recently announced the US withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, US, Britain, France, and Germany). Prior to the move, the US had repeatedly violated the international pact by imposing numerous sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Given Washington’s non-commitment to such an important international agreement, what would be a guarantee of success of the US-North Korea deal?

Glenn: The JCPOA was not ‘good’ for Iran, a fact that has been stated many times not only by His Excellency Ayatollah Khamenei but as well as many of those making up the Principalist elements within the Iranian political system. No one should be mourning the US withdrawal from this subversive agreement that in effect was a Trojan Horse designed with the express purpose of using Western money as the bait for inducing Iran into betraying her 1979 revolution and her sovereignty.

Having said that, the fact that the US under Trump has withdrawn from an agreement that was in effect a slap in the face to Iran should not be seen necessarily as a guarantee that the US will abrogate the terms of any agreements with North Korea. Politically speaking, it would be a shambles for American credibility around the world were this to happen and would thus only strengthen the arguments that many nations already make about the US being untrustworthy, an opinion which is definitely not without justification. If there is any falling out between the Trump administration and that of Kim Jong-un, it will be the result of deliberate machinations taking place by Israel and her agents of influence in the US Congress and the US Intelligence community, both of which are part of the ‘Deep State’ that is determined to prevent Trump from succeeding in bringing some kind of resolution--as inadequate as it may be--to the Palestinian/Israeli situation.
