Iran Capable of Exporting Military Components: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A ranking Iranian commander said the country has made such major advances in the military industry that it can export components for military equipment to other countries.

In comments on Wednesday, Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force’s Airborne Division General Yousef Qorbani said the Iranian Armed Forces have gained such production capabilities that they can sell military components to other countries.

Highlighting the advances in Iranian missiles and weapons for countering the enemies, the general said the country has gained an edge in nocturnal aerial operations.

In remarks in late July, General Qorbani announced that Iran has the strongest fleet of military copters in the Middle East.

Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

In February 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei called for efforts to maintain and boost Iran’s defense capabilities, hitting back at the enemies for disputing the country’s missile program.

“Without a moment of hesitation, the country must move to acquire whatever is necessary for defense, even if the whole world is opposed to it,” the Leader said.
