Tappeh Hesar: An Important Archaeological Site in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Tappeh Hesar (also Tepe Hissar) is located near Damghan in Iran's Semnan province. It is one of the important ancient hills of Iran plateau.

The area has hosted residents since seven thousand years ago. The historical area of Tappeh Hesar is approximately 160 hectares.

The culture of Hesar has been destroyed by the attack of alien tribes from east, and only it has continued in Shah Tappeh and Tourang Tappeh.

Hesar’s culture can be said that was demolished nearly 1900 years before the birth of Christ.

It is worth mentioning that the clay of Hesar is bright gray and delicate which can be seen a lot in Shah Tappeh, Yarim Tappeh, and Gorgan plain.
