103 Saudi-Backed Mercenaries Killed, Injured in Western Coast Front

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 46 Saudi-backed militants and UAE forces were killed after Yemeni troops stepped up their attacks on them in the Arab country’s western coasts.

More than 46 mercenaries were killed and 57 others wounded in the western coast front in Hudaydah, a military source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Saba news agency on Thursday.

He added that nine military vehicles belonging to the militants were also destroyed during the attack.

The operation took place in al-Jabalih area of Tuhaytah district, the source added.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE launched an offensive on June 13 to capture Hudaydah, the main entry point for food in a country teetering on the brink of famine.

The operation, however, came into an immediate halt in the face of stiff resistance by Houthi fighters and residents of the port city, which forced the kingdom to wind down the push.
