Iran Holds Special Meeting for ACL Final

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran has started preparations for the second leg of the 2018 AFC Champions League final between Persepolis and Japan's Kashima Antlers on November 10.

It will be Persepolis FC's first AFC Champions League final and a meeting to discuss the organization of the second leg at the Azadi Stadium was held at the Sports and Youth Ministry on Saturday, the-afc.com wrote.

Mehdi Taj, the President of the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran, representatives of the Development and Equipment Company, Tehran Prosecutor, Customs and various other agencies attended the meeting.

Discussions were centered on ensuring the smooth flow of the second leg of the final, which several hundred international delegates and guests are expected to attend.

Both teams will be playing in the AFC Champions League final for the first time, with Kashima Antlers hosting the first leg on November 3.

The Japanese side edged Korea Republic's Suwon Samsung Bluewings 6-5 on aggregate in the semi-finals while Persepolis ended the challenge of Qatar's Al Sadd, winning the two-leg clash 2-1 on aggregate.
