Commander Deplores Obama’s Talk of Military Option against Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A top Iranian military commander deplored on Saturday US president’s repeated rhetoric of “all options are on the table” as sickening, saying the White House is like a puppet in the hands of the Zionists.

The United States will soon realize that Iran is a power to reckon with, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said.

"Now the US government is like retarded puppet at the hands of the Zionists. If America had the capability and will to wage a war, it would not hesitate a moment in attacking Syria," said Jazayeri, referring to recent remarks by US President Barack Obama who said his country would not take military action off the table in the event that Iran does not freeze its nuclear activities.

"America will soon realize that Iran's power is not something to be ignored... Iran's diplomacy will not be affected by the rusted carrot and stick approach of the US," added Jazayeri.

Condemning the time-worn phrase used by the US officials, the deputy chief of staff of the Iranian armed forces stressed that US interests and all of the Zionists sources of power are within the range of the Iranian armed forces, and that Tehran would not hesitate the slightest bit in hitting them, if necessary.

The Iranian commander's remarks came after Obama told NBC that he would keep a “sanctions architecture in place” so that if Iran failed to follow through, the international community  can “crank that dial back up.”

“We don’t have to trust” Iran, Obama said. “What we have to do is to make sure that there is a good deal in place from the perspective of us verifying what they’re doing. And that they’re actually moving in the right direction.”

Later on Friday, Barack Obama telephoned Netanyahu to discuss the international talks on Iran's nuclear program, the White House said in a statement.
