Yemeni Forces Launch Drone Attack against Saudi-Backed Forces in Eastern Sana'a

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Yemeni Ansarullah forces launched a drone attack against the Saudi-backed forces in an area in eastern Sana'a province near Ma'rib province on Thursday.

According to a report by Yemen Saba news agency, the positions of Saudi-backed forces were attacked by the Houthi Ansarullah forces, using a Qasef-1 attack UAV.

The report added that a Qasef-1 attack drone conducted an air attack on the gathering points of Saudi-backed forces in the Fardit Nihm area in Sanaa’s Nihm District, scoring direct hits on their positions.

The air strike caused heavy casualties among the forces of Saudi mercenaries, Yemeni army official added.

This was the second time this week that Ansarullah forces have used Qasef-1 drones against the Saudi-backed troops in Yemen.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than three-and-a-half years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Yemeni Ministry of Human Rights announced in a statement on March 25 that the war had left 600,000 civilians dead and injured until then. The war and the accompanying blockade have also caused famine across Yemen.
