Palestinian Politician: Iran Driver of Regional Convergence
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Palestinian political figure described the Islamic Republic as the driving engine of the Muslim nations in confrontation with the global arrogance, adding that Iran now lies at the heart of convergence of regional countries.
“All the current developments in the region have emerged due to the convergence of Muslim nations, and such convergence moves ahead to meet the targets of the Islamic resistance in the region in order to switch on the driving engine of the Islamic Awakening all over the region,” Muhammad Nimr al-Zaghmout, head of the Palestinian Islamic Council in Lebanon and Refugee Camps told Tasnim on Sunday.
He also noted that the Islamic Awakening in the region has contributed to a wave of protests against the global arrogance and colonialism, stressing that such a process should be used to remind the Muslim nations of the vital issue of Palestine.
“The whole regional developments have once again reminded the arrogant powers that al-Quds is an Islamic legacy and Palestine is the land of Palestinians,” he explained.
In relevant remarks on October 9, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had announced that the awakening movement in the region received its impetus from the Islamic Revolution which from the very beginning heralded a “national, deep, pious, stable, capable and developing power.”
The Leader had also lauded the awakening movement in the regional countries, saying despite the wishes of the West this movement still continues unabated.
“Awakening of nations and (their) standing, with empty hands, against humiliating behavior of the West and the US was a big event, however, it (the awakening movement) is not over yet, contrary to the West's presumption,” he stated.
Also on September 5, Ayatollah Khamenei had rejected the perception that the Islamic Awakening is on the wane, saying it was not a purely political phenomenon dependent on certain figures, but instead a state of self-confidence and reliance on Islam which has spread across the Islamic world.
“The prevailing conditions in the region that we witness are, in fact, the reaction of the global arrogance, led by the Americans, to the Islamic Awakening,” the Supreme Leader noted.
