Finnish FM Asks for Broader Helsinki-Tehran Relations

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Finland’s Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif in Munich asked for the expansion of bilateral relations in line with the two nations’ interests.

In the meeting held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations as well as regional, international developments.

They also conferred on the two sides’ cooperation in the international circles.

The Finnish top diplomat welcomed the Geneva nuclear agreements signed between Iran and the six world powers, and called for the further improvement of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Zarif, too, referred to the good and age-old relations between Tehran and Helsinki and the positive views that the two nations have of each other, and stressed the necessity for using the existing opportunity for economic, cultural and political cooperation between the two sides.
